Bubble text refers to letters and numbers enclosed inside circular shapes, creating a distinctive rounded appearance that stands apart from ordinary plain text. Unlike the hand-drawn bubble letters popular in graffiti art and school notebooks -- where artists manually inflate each letter with thick outlines and rounded edges -- Unicode bubble text is generated using a specific set of preassigned characters from the Unicode Standard.
The outline variant draws from the Enclosed Alphanumerics block (U+2460 through U+24FF), a range first introduced in Unicode 1.0 back in 1991. These code points wrap each letter of the Latin alphabet inside a thin circular border: uppercase A through Z occupy U+24B6 to U+24CF, lowercase a through z sit at U+24D0 to U+24E9, and circled digits 0 through 9 are scattered nearby. Because these characters have existed for over three decades, virtually every modern operating system, browser, and messaging app can render them correctly.
The filled variant is newer and more visually striking. These characters come from the Enclosed Alphanumeric Supplement block (U+1F150 onward), added in Unicode 6.0 in 2010. Instead of a thin outline, each letter appears as a white glyph against a solid dark circle, producing a badge-like or button-like aesthetic. The tradeoff is compatibility: because this block was introduced more recently, some older devices -- particularly budget Android phones running outdated system fonts -- may display these characters as empty squares or dotted boxes.
What makes both styles genuinely useful is that they are plain text, not images or special formatting. You can paste bubble letters into an Instagram bio, a Discord message, a tweet, or even a plain-text email, and they will display their circular form without any rich-text support. They occupy a single code point per character, so they behave like any other letter when it comes to selection, searching, and text processing. This generator converts your input character by character, mapping each letter and digit to its circled Unicode equivalent in real time.
- 1Type or paste your text into the input field above. The generator processes letters A-Z (both cases) and digits 0-9.
- 2Choose your style -- Bubble Outline for the classic thin-circle look, or Bubble Filled for bold dark circles with white letters.
- 3Preview the result in real time. The conversion happens instantly as you type -- no waiting, no page reloads.
- 4Click the copy button next to your preferred style. The bubble text is copied to your clipboard.
- 5Paste it anywhere -- social media bios, messages, comments, documents, or emails. The bubble characters travel as plain text.
Bubble text is compatible with virtually every modern platform:
Note: Filled circle letters (the dark-background style) may appear as squares on older devices or operating systems that lack the Enclosed Alphanumeric Supplement font. Outline bubbles have the widest support.

What are bubble letters?
Bubble letters are Unicode characters where each letter or digit is enclosed inside a circle. They are part of the official Unicode Standard (Enclosed Alphanumerics block) and render as native text on all modern platforms -- no special fonts or images required.
What is the difference between outline and filled bubble letters?
Outline bubbles show a letter inside a thin circular border on a transparent background. Filled bubbles place a white letter on a solid dark circle. The visual effect is similar to the difference between an outlined button and a solid button in UI design.
Do bubble letters work on Instagram and Discord?
Yes. Outline bubble letters work on virtually every platform including Instagram bios, Discord messages, Twitter/X posts, Facebook comments, and more. Filled bubbles also work on most modern apps, though some older devices may not render them.
Can I bubble numbers?
Yes. Digits 0 through 9 all have circled Unicode equivalents. The generator automatically converts both letters and numbers. Punctuation and special characters pass through unchanged since Unicode does not provide circled versions for them.
Why do filled bubble letters show as squares on some devices?
Filled circled letters belong to the Enclosed Alphanumeric Supplement block, added in Unicode 6.0 (2010). Devices running very old operating systems or lacking updated system fonts cannot render them and display placeholder squares instead. Updating your OS or using a modern browser typically resolves this.
